VSScript features a macro recording mode, which allows you to record the actions performed in Visual Studio as a script.
You can use the recorder either through VSScript menu, or buttons on VSScript Editor toolbar. There are following commands related to recording:
|Record||Turns on the recording mode. Click to begin recording your macro.|
|Stop||Turns off the recording mode. Click to end recording your macro.|
|Play||Click to play your recorded macro.|
|Save||Click to save your recorded macro to disk.|
The recorder works for most typical actions, like editing files, etc. However it is somewhat limited due to lack of special support for macro recording in Visual Studio 2012, or lack of documentation for that mechanism in earlier versions. VSScript relies on public and documented APIs of Visual Studio extensibility. The macro recorder will record all events which are available through these APIs.
